such在高中英語教學及高考中是非常重要的一個詞，也是高考的一個重要考點。現將其用法歸納如下：

1.Such 在句中作定語。可以組成以下句型結構：

1）  such a (an)+形容詞＋單數可數名詞

This is such a lovely hill that I will pay a visit to again.

2)such＋形容詞＋複數可數名詞

　The teachers you have already seen are such great men

3)Such＋形容詞＋不可數名詞

　The people we often talk about have such useful knowledge.

4)such a ＋單數可數名詞＋as從句

　She is such a writer as he referred to at the meeting.

5)such ＋複數可數名詞＋as從句

  They are such books as I bought in Harbin.

6)such＋不可數名詞＋as從句(as可作主語、表語或賓語)

　I know that such knowledge as is mentioned by him is useful.

7)可數單數名詞＋such as＋單詞或句子

　She is not a woman such as I referred to at the meeting yesterday.

  =She is not such a woman as I referred to at the meeting yesterday.

8)複數名詞＋such as＋單詞或句子

　We prefer boys such as him/ he.

  They are teachers such as are mentioned by her.

9)不可數名詞＋such as ＋單詞或句子

　This is water such as was carried by him yesterday.

注意：

1.不能說so such a thing ,因為no=not a 或not any，已包括不定冠詞a。such應該放在a/an之前，但放在some, any, no, every, many, all ,few之後。例如：

Some such people have been there before.

I am sorry that I have no such book.

He told me that he had never met any such man.

2. so＋形容詞＋a/an/單數可數名詞。例如：

I have never read so interesting a book/ such an interesting book.

3.such…as和such…that句型不同，前者as引導的從句是定語從句，而後者that引導的從句是狀語從句，例如：

He is such a man as was mentioned at the meeting by our headmistress yesterday.

This is such an interesting book that I want to read it again.

2. such 作主語。如果such as 之後跟定語從句時，相當於Those who或such＋名詞＋as；也就是說，as是關係代詞。例如：

Such as have plenty will never want for friends.

=Those who have plenty will never want for friends.

=Such people as have plenty will never want for friends.

富人決不會缺少朋友。

3.such作賓語。例如：

　Such students as those are rare in our school, but you can find such here.

4.such作表語或補語。例如：

　I am sure that this problem is not such as can be easily worked out.

  The old man wants a study, and he makes his bedroom such.

5such用於感歎句中。例如：

You are such a fool! = What a fool you are!

Such a stupid student! = What a stupid student!

6. such用於並列分句後一分句中，對前一分句進行解釋，說明原因，兩個分句用逗號隔開。例如：

To my surprise, you believed what he had said, you are such a fool. (=so foolish)

7.such…as to do sth.可以表示程度，表示“那樣……以致”。例如：

Our head teacher is not such a bad man as to ill-treat us students.

=Our head teacher is not so bad that he can’t ill-treat us students.

8.such還可以修飾名詞等，表示不明指的人或物。例如：

I have not finished this work on time for such and such reasons.

注意：such as 表示“例如”時，後面不要再用etc.或省略號，但如果表示全部列舉時，用that is, namely, viz, i.e.，不用such as。例如：

I know three languages, such as English and Russian.

I know three languages, namely/ that is , English, Russian and Japanese.
