故事大約是如此～
有一對老夫妻在大風雪的夜裡（好像是聖誕節），
來到已客滿的旅店，正愁不知如何是好。
這位接待員告知，當天客房全滿，無空房可供住宿。
若在平日，可送他們前往附近的旅店。
但是今天風雪實在太大，無法如此做。
他自己的房間雖然不大，但還算乾淨。
今晚剛好他值班，房間可空出來供他二人使用。
第二天結帳時，接待員說明，
昨夜老夫婦使用的房間，
並不是飯店的客房，所以不收費。
老夫婦聽完非常感謝，並說：
將來如果我們蓋一間飯店，一定請你來經營。
幾年後，接待員收到一封信，裡面有機票。
這對夫妻到機場接他。
在路上遠遠看見一棟耀眼的建築物，
這是我們蓋的飯店，請你來經營！
後來果然這家飯店成了口碑絕佳的旅店。
我想，心有多寬廣，路就有多寬廣。
