特殊句型倒裝句型-2

1.  not only……… but also

The teacher not only gave me advice, but also offered me help.

老師不但提供我建議，同時也提供我協助

=Not only did the teacher give me advice, but he also offered me help.

(注意：助動詞did後的動詞要改為動詞原形give)

2.not……..until改為Not until………

I didn’t return and continue to sing until he handed the money to Mother.

直到他交錢給我母親之前，我是不會回來繼續唱歌的

= Not until he handed the money to Mother did I return and continue to sing.

3.as soon as 改為 No sooner …….than……..

As soon as(The moment/ The minute) I met her, I would tell her the truth.

=On meeting her, I would tell her the truth.

=Upon meeting her, I would tell her the truth.

一見到他我就會告訴他實情

= No sooner had I met her than I would tell her the truth.

(注意：no sooner後接過去完成式，表示比過去式要早發生的動作)

4.Although S+ V+…….改為Adj./ Adv./ N+ as +S+ V………

Although he was exhausted, he still worked very hard.

雖然他很累，但他仍然一分努力工作

= Exhausted as he was, he still worked very hard.

Although he ran fast, he still lost the race.

雖然他跑的快，但他輸了這場賽跑

= Fast as he ran, he still lost the race.

Although he is a boy, he can lift the heavy box.

雖然他是一個男孩，但他可以舉這重物

= Boy as he is, he can lift the heavy box .
